Rakha Madahar is an award winning, Surface Pattern Designer and Illustrator based in Warwickshire, who founded her business desgn.prnt in September 2020. She brings together vibrant colours and captivating textures to create sophisticated patterns and prints. Rakha has curated her own collection, where she sells a range of sustainable and eco-friendly stationery and homeware products that can be purchased online and at Artisan markets. When working with clients, Rakha’s aim is to combine her own aesthetics with their needs and create something truly bespoke and memorable.
Rakha was looking to channel her creativity, whilst she was still working in a local school as a Teaching Assistant. She began delving into the world of Surface Pattern Design by completing several online courses with Make it in Design. Rakha wanted to share her passion for patterns and prints full time and as a result desgn.prnt was founded. She began exclusively licencing greeting card designs with a UK based online greeting card retailer, as well as selling her prints to a third-party print on demand website. Followed shortly by designing a range of a plantable postcards set, which Rakha started stocking in a local retailer. She extended her range to offer eco-friendly wrapping paper and homeware products too. In 2022, Rakha’s efforts were recognised, when she was awarded the Small Business Sunday Award from a former Dragon, Theo Paphitis and she recently made the f:Entrepreneur #iAlso100 2024 list. As an artist, Rakha has also been afforded the opportunity to display her work in various settings. From the U.C.H.W. Hospital in Coventry to Birmingham New Street Station as well as her local gallery.
