D'lux Gift Box is a personalised gift box business that offers carefully curated handmade custom gift boxes which contain confectionery (coffee, tea, biscuits) and self-care items. The business is passionate about spreading joy and love, and so sells gift boxes that offer a cherished experience with a meaningful personal connection built from heartfelt handwritten well-wishes messages.
D'lux Gift Box brand was launched by Promise Okoye during a very difficult time in 2021, amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, when she sought to uplift the spirit of loved ones during a tough time. When many businesses were struggling, D'lux gift box found an opportunity that positively impacted lives and was able to achieve over 5,000 sales in 17 months, sending handmade gift boxes built from scratch to finish with very limited staff.
One of the themes that emerged in Promises journey, is that the road to business success isn’t an easy one. She had experienced hardship and obstacles but with tenacity, resilience and smart planning, she navigated through her challenges. Promise was raised in a small town in West Africa and at the early age of 11, lost her dad, and shortly afterwards her mum was diagnosed with cancer. In 2013, she relocated to the UK and when she launched D'lux Gift Box, Promise was able to draw on her past experience and background to drive the business forward. The business’ core mission later evolved to include "giving back to the society", and so the business annually donates part of its profits to support young girls' education in Africa.
