Funmi Lawal founded Clip-Knix in 2018. The business started trading in March 2020 and has already been listed as a SmallBiz100 in 2022 and f:Entrepreneur #iAlso100 in 2023.
Clip-Knix makes adaptive, patented, front-fastening underwear for women which can be put on without bending or stretching, and can be worn sitting, standing or lying down.
The idea for the business came in 2002, when Funmi was suddenly and unexpectedly faced with a future that required her to manage her own limited mobility. The difficulties that she had while getting dressed started her thinking about possible solutions that could benefit others as well as herself.
Through Clip-Knix, Funmi hopes to make living more simple for other people and to empower them to live independent, positive lives.
