Megha Shah is the founder of sustainable fashion accessories brand Siyana London.
Named after a hamlet in the vibrant state of Rajasthan, India, Siyana is an ode to the ancestral village of the brand's founder. Siyana London seeks to nurture and encourage the individuality and craftsmanship of India's indigenous artisans while working with contemporary ideas. The result is a fine work of wearable art. Individually handcrafted, each of its products can be traced to a personal journey of its artisans from distinct parts of India.
During lockdown, Megha began a new project - growing microgreens at home.
'We love growing herbs in the garden and my daughter enjoys watering plants, sowing seeds, and digging the dirt,'.
After months of research, Megha was ready to share her experience and insights with the world, on how urban homes can grow their own food with few essentials.
'Microgreens are very nutritious and grow very quickly. It's a great way to introduce kids to the idea of conscious, healthy eating.'
Through this workshop, Megha wants to encourage more parents and children to take up healthy eating habits and learn something unique in the process. She also hopes to encourage parents to use takeaway boxes and reusable plastic containers to grow their microgreens, thus helping to reduce and repurpose waste.
