Lisa Baskott is the founder of security company 2nd Line of Defence Ltd.

As a recruitment agency specialising in front line security personnel within the UK's private security industry, it was established to address two distinct needs:

1. The safety of women and vulnerable people/groups particularly within the night time cultural economy;
2. The chronic talent shortage of fully trained and vetted Security Industry Authority (SIA) licensed front line door security staff in the UK.

The fundamental rights of women and vulnerable groups to feel safe on the streets at night is at the heart of some of the biggest issues facing the night time cultural economy in the UK. Lisa says "Times are changing and womens' voices are now being heard, but the odds are very much stacked against us."

Diversity and inclusion is at the heart of the company's mission, with a specific interest in helping individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds (with a focus on women, disabled, LGBTQ+ and ethnic minority groups) find employment, by reflecting the availability of jobs in the market in which they live.
